James Plymale was getting ready for work about 8 a.m. when a neighbor told him she couldn't find her grandchild and asked Plymale to help look for him. They walked to the pond on Daniel Road in the neighborhood and found the boy. Plymale pulled him out and started CPR. In the meantime, family called 911.

Horry County police charged Talmadge Rowell, 51, with criminal sexual conduct first degree. Police say he inappropriately touched three girls, ages 14, 12 and 3.

The Hornet Fire off Highway 90 in Horry County started more than two weeks ago, but it is still giving the South Carolina Forestry Commission trouble. Saturday, the fire flared up again by jumping over lines the commission created to stop the fire.

Horry County and state Forestry firefighters remain on the scene of a 350 acre wildfire that's been burning near the Carolina Forest area since just after noon Sunday. The South Carolina Forestry Commission says overnight crews had a hard time establishing a fire line because of thick vegetation in the area. On the other hand, some areas are extremely wet and several bulldozers got stuck.

Update: 11:30 a.m. Monday The SC Forestry Commission says the wildfire is now 98% contained. The commission estimates the total acreage burned 19,600 acres.
