Wednesday, March 07, 2012  A company that makes electric buses in Greenville plans to hire 900 fewer workers than originally planned.

Tuesday, June 14, 2011  An electric bus manufacturer in Greenville says a $30 million investment will allow it to resume hiring.  Company president Jeff Granato said Monday the new investment led by venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers also allows Proterra LLC to settle with suppliers.

Friday, April 22, 2011  CEO Jeff Granato said Thursday the money allows Proterra LLC to pay suppliers and also means the company's plan to build a permanent facility is still on track.

Friday, April 15, 2011  On Thursday, Proterra showcased the first bus that the company said was made at its new Greenville plant.  The electric-bus maker said the vehicle will be sent for federal testing in Pennsylvania, which it called a big milestone. The company said it will ultimately lead to Proterra's ability to fulfill its commercialization plan, which included bringing more than 1,000 jobs to Greenville.

Thursday, January 27, 2011  U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood told workers at Proterra's Greenville facility Thursday that the business' clean energy and green jobs exemplify what other businesses should strive for in their operations.
