Friday, October 07, 2011  Richland County officials are hoping for your help in the recovery of pit bulls rescued from a dog fighting ring in September.  Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott says a foundation has been set up to help assist and offset the costs of caring for the dogs.

Monday, September 26, 2011  Officials say they've arrested three suspects connected to a dog fighting ring that was broken up earlier this month.  The animals involved now need foster homes.

Monday, September 12, 2011  Deputies responded to a complaint of barking dogs at a home on Camp Ground Road around 6 p.m.  When officials arrived they noticed, what they say appeared to be, a dog fighting operation with several people involved, who then fled the scene.

Monday, July 11, 2011  A Midlands animal shelter is looking for a home for a pit bull that they say was used to train fighting dogs.  Pets Inc. in West Columbia says the adult male dog, they've named Cowboy, was brought to them with bites and broken or filed teeth.
