ALLENDALE, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina authorities say a criminal investigation is under way after digging up the body of a tall man rumored to have had his legs cut so he could fit in a coffin. Allendale County Coroner Hayzen (HAY'-zin) Black said Tuesday that the coffin of James Hines was opened earlier in the day and that the case has been turned over for a criminal investigation.
