The Kershaw County Sheriff's Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigators arrested 63-year-old Norman Elliot at his home in Lugoff Monday. Sheriff Jim Matthews says customs officials stopped a package set for delivery to Elliot coming from Nigeria. The package included almost 200 counterfeit checks worth over $550,000.

Officials say they've arrested five counterfeiting suspects in Orangeburg. Orangeburg County Sheriff's Department Leroy Ravenell says more than $120,000 in counterfeit goods were seized during an undercover investigation at the Springfield Flea Market and Silverback Wholesalers.
