Friday, December 14, 2012  A gun like those used by Confederates in the final months defending Fort Sumter is again back on the ramparts of the Charleston fort.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011  A crumbling 19th century fort in Charleston Harbor has been sold to the Sons of Confederate Veterans for $10.  The Post and Courier of Charleston reports the heritage group wants to preserve Castle Pinckney, the first Union fort seized by Confederates before the Civil War.

Monday, April 11, 2011  Some 300 re-enactors are camped out at Patriots Point in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.  Sunday morning began with a period church service, followed by artillery drills and cannon firing.
