Arrest warrants have been drawn for Tyrone Derek Mitchell-Blakeney. When arrested, he is expected to be charged with First Degree Assault and Battery, Robbery (Common Law).He and three co-defendants are accused of robbing and beating a man at 2108 Devine Street on May 18, 2012 shortly after 1 o’clock in the morning.

A Columbia mother is speaking out after a judge ruled that a 15-year-old accused in the beating of her teenage son will not be tried as an adult. Vicky Strange calls the decision a miscarriage of justice. The teen in question is charged in the June beating of her son Carter.

A Richland County Family Court judge has decided that a 15-year-old suspect in the June beating of another teen in Columbia will not be tried as an adult. Eight teens were charged in the attack of Carter Strange as he jogged through Columbia's Five Points neighborhood around midnight in June of last year.

Investigators say a 40-year-old man has died after witnesses said he was beaten by a man with a hammer. Authorities said Benjamin Singleton died Friday at the hospital, a few hours after a woman called 911to report he had been severely injured.
