Monday, July 18, 2011  The Hornet Fire off Highway 90 in Horry County started more than two weeks ago, but it is still giving the South Carolina Forestry Commission trouble.  Saturday, the fire flared up again by jumping over lines the commission created to stop the fire.

Monday, July 04, 2011  Horry County and state Forestry firefighters remain on the scene of a 350 acre wildfire that's been burning near the Carolina Forest area since just after noon Sunday. The South Carolina Forestry Commission says overnight crews had a hard time establishing a fire line because of thick vegetation in the area. On the other hand, some areas are extremely wet and several bulldozers got stuck.
