What is Spirit Squad? The Spirit Squad Challenge is a program designed to promote the community and good stewardship with students of high schools in the Midlands through an ongoing food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank. The 10 most spirited schools in the Midlands will have the opportunity to participate.
What is the goal of Spirit Squad? The goal of the Spirit Squad Challenge is to create a friendly competition between schools and show school pride and spirit, all while helping the community.
How it works:
Over the course of 10 weeks leading up to the annual WACH Fox Share Your Holiday Event, Tyler and Fraendy from Good Day Columbia will visit and broadcast live at the most spirited schools, collecting food for Harvest Hope while showing off their school spirit. The selected schools will have students send in a two minute video talking about the school, which will air on Good Day Columbia before the Spirit Squad broadcast. The video can be of anything that shows off the school.
The food collection will happen throughout the 10 weeks. At the end, the school that raises the most weight in food will be awarded the coveted School Spirit Squad Cup to display for the year.
How can your school participate? Demonstrate why your school is the best and show everyone your community spirit! Show off everything that makes your school a great place to be and let us know why you have the best school and the most community spirit in all of the Midlands!
We are currently accepting nominations for the live pep rallies, which have already begun!
Contact 803-212-7313 or email spirit@wach.com for more information or to nominate your school!
