COLUMBIA (WACH)- South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney was named SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week and SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week announced Monday.  The sophomore from Rock Hill single-handedly disrupted Tajh Boyd and the Clemson offense in the Gamecocks 27-17 win over the Tigers Saturday night in Death Valley.

Clowney set numerous records Saturday.  With four and a half sacks on the night, the South Pointe product set the record for most sacks in a game at Clemson Memorial Stadium, while also setting a school-record for sacks in a game.  Clowney upped his sack total to 13, which breaks the South Carolina single-season school record.

Clowney now leads the NCAA with sacks and tackles for loss.  The Gamecocks finish the regular season at 10-2 and 6-2 in the SEC.  USC now awaits where it will play in the postseason.
