COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Richland One, mourning the loss of a longtime board member and community leader.

Barbara Scott was remembered on Monday.

After a funeral service, a celebration of her life was held at "The Big Apple" in Columbia.

Friends and family gathered to remember all of the things Scott accomplished in her life and while serving the community.

Scott was first elected to the board of commissioners in 1974 and served for eight years.

In 1984 she won election as county Clerk of Court, and after 24-years of service in that position she successfully ran for an at-large seat on the school board.
