COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Richland County has finally certified its election results, 10 days after Election Day.

The county Election Commission completed its vote count and called the results official Friday afternoon.

An Election Day full of problems and a lawsuit meant the county didn't even finish counting its votes until Wednesday. Officials then found nearly 200 uncounted votes in several places in the county election office Thursday.

The state Supreme Court set a noon Friday deadline for certification, but granted the county an extension because of what it called unanticipated issues.

Candidates have until noon Monday to file protests.

Richland County reported five-hour waits to vote Nov. 6 amid broken machines and questions whether the county held back some voting devices.
