RICHLAND COUNTY (WACH) - Authorities say a deputy was bit on the arm by a woman Wednesday evening.

A spokesman with the Richland County Sheriff's Department says deputies went to JT's Kia off of Killian Road in response to a report of someone possibly harassing staff and employees around 8:30 p.m Wednesday.

Deputies say Rosa Yolanda Samuel, 45,  was recording video of customers and harassing customers and staff at the store. She was asked to leave multiple times.

Samuel started yelling at the deputies, who tried to place her in handcuffs, which is when she bit one of the deputies in the forearm and broke the skin, according to authorities.

The deputy was treated at the scene by EMS and Samuel was taken into custody. She was issued a trespass notice and is charged with assault on a police officer and threatening the life of a public official.
