COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) -- South Carolina head basketball coach Frank Martin is pointing the finger of blame squarely at himself after his team's disappointing 67-56 loss to Georgia.

Saturday's loss was South Carolina's second straight in conference play. Earlier this week, the Gamecocks lost at No. 4 Florida, 75-36, posting their lowest point total in the SEC since joining the conference.

After Saturday's loss, a clearly dejected Martin blamed himself.

"I gotta do my job a heck of a lot better," said Martin. "My staff's been on me about that, and I'm not going to expand on that. That's between me, my staff and my players. I've done a bad job this week and that's gotta change."

When a reporter pressed Martin to explain his statement further, he acknowledged that the question had to be asked, but didn't want to say anything more.

"That's between us and those kids," said Martin. "We've played the game the right way and we haven't for the last week. I've got to do my job better."

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, the SEC's second leading scorer, posted 19 points for Georgia, leading the Bulldogs to their third straight Southeastern Conference win, helping them reach the 4-4 mark in conference play.

Michael Carrera led the Gamecocks (12-9, 2-6) with 16 points, but had just one of those the final 20 minutes. South Carolina's leading scorer, Brenton Williams, was held to 2 points on 1-of-4 shooting.

South Carolina has now lost four of its last five. They travel to Kentucky Tuesday night.
