COLUMBIA (WACH) - The musical entertainment lineup for Columbia's Famously Hot New Year celebration is complete, event organizers announced Thursday.
The Wallflowers, DJ Biz Markie, Atlantic Starr and local artists Reggie Sullivan Band, Terence Young and The Finesse Band will perform at the Main Street street party to rock in the new year.
The Wallflowers are known for their Grammy-winning song "One Headlight" and DJ Biz Markie sings the popular hit "Just a Friend."
Officials expect thousands to fill the downtown streets of Columbia for the second year of one of the Southeast's biggest New Year's Eve parties.
Along with musical entertainment, event attendees will be able to enjoy food, drink, fireworks and a midnight countdown into 2013.
Famously Hot New Year will be held on Columbia’s Main Street between Gervais and Lady Streets—right in front of the South Carolina Statehouse. The event will start at 7 p.m. (gates open at 6 p.m.) on December 31, 2012.
