CHAPIN (WACH) -- The streets of Chapin were calm on Monday, but that could change later this week when Chef Robert Irvine and his crew from"Restaurant Impossible" roll into town.
The Food Network show takes a struggling restaurant and turns it around by revising its look and menu. Sweet Tea is the subject of an upcoming episode.
"I definitely think it could use a makeover," said Chapin resident Janet Thiel. "I think it would be a good little restaurant if it was redone and had better service."
Thiel eats breakfast frequently at Sweet Tea and heard during the weekend, Restaurant Impossible would be coming to town.
"Chapin needs some exposure and I think it will bring people out to the restaurant to see what it's like."
Harry Cromer is also a Sweet Tea regular and he's on the Chapin Chamber of Commerce board. Cromer says the national exposure couldn't come at a better time.
"I think for the restaurant, the business community, having a show come in and help a local restaurant." "We don't have a lot of restaurants here in Chapin, so obviously we want to support them."
The people at Sweet Tea say the cannot talk to us until Restaurant Impossible finishes its work.
