Haley introducing Adolf Zubia
COLUMBIA (WACH) -- South Carolina has a new Fire Marshal. Gov. Nikki Haley introduced Adolf Zubia, who will be heading up the position, Tuesday afternoon.
“We’re pleased that Adolf Zubia has agreed to serve as Fire Marshal because he strikes the perfect balance between protecting the safety and needs of our fire service members and strengthening our businesses," Haley said at the press conference at the State House.
Zubia come to the Palmetto State from Las Cruces, NM where he served as the city's fire chief for eight years and has 23 years of experience in fire and emergency services.
Zubia graduated from the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program. He also served as the president of a 50,000 member code council.
“I want to thank Gov. Haley for this opportunity,” Zubia said. “I’m eager and enthusiastic to get to work with the staff at the Fire Marshal’s office and the fire service members of the state of South Carolina.”
