“This has been very difficult to comprehend all of the events around this tragic situation,” said family friend Menia Lee.

Two small white caskets holding the bodies of two-year-old Devean Duley and 18-month-old Ja'Van Duley placed at the front of the sanctuary with a slideshow playing above.

“There are a lot of underlining things that we don't know” says family friend Ethel Moseley, “but maybe we can learn something from this.”

The funeral lasted about an hour and included prayer and singing, which could be heard from outside the church.

The service centered on the celebration of the toddlers' lives, however, some in attendance were also thinking about Shaquan Duley.

“She was a beautiful parent,” said family friend Barbara Adams.

When the funeral ended -- some left in tears, while others inspired to come together during a time of loss.
