(AP) -- COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Members of the South Carolina Air National Guard and the Army at Fort Jackson are teaming up to provide Christmas cheer for kids at a Columbia children's home.

A spokesman for McEntire Joint National Guard Base outside Columbia said Wednesday military volunteers collected and delivered presents to the 80 children at Epworth Children's Home, which cares for abused and neglected kids.

The children are treated to a Christmas dinner at Fort Jackson, the Army's largest training installation located near Columbia. Church volunteers also chip in their time to make sure the children get a chance to attend holiday functions outside the home.

A spokesman for Epworth said the children can help out at a local soup kitchen during the holidays so they may give back to the community.
