Former coach arrested for relationship with teen

Thursday, March 26, 2009 COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Former Ben Lippen football coach Jake Sawyer has been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor for his relationship with a female student at the high school.Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said investigators determined that Sawyer and the student at the Christian-based high school didn't have a sexual relationship. Sawyer was advised to stop calling, meeting and communicating with the teen.
