Monday, October 17, 2011  Two Gamecocks picked up weekly honors for their 14-12 winning performance against Mississippi State Saturday.  D.J. Swearinger was named co-SEC Defensive Player of the Week and Bruce Ellington was named co-SEC Freshman of the Week by the conference Monday.

Tuesday, October 11, 2011  Spurrier says an article written by State sports columnist Ron Morris falsely accuses him of trying to recruit Bruce Ellington away from Gamecock basketball coach Darrin Horn.  The highly touted Ellington was a stand-out in both basketball and football and chose football.

Friday, March 25, 2011  USC athletics officials confirmed Friday a third player is leaving the men's basketball team, leaving the Gamecock roster with just eight players.
