Friday, April 29, 2011  More details are emerging about the man who was killed Wednesday after coming out of a Shandon home firing an AK-47 at officers.  Officials say 22-year-old Blakely Jernigan was wearing homemade explosives when he emerged from the rental house.  They also say they found another AK-47 along with other weapons inside the home as well as marijuana and cocaine.  Investigators also say Jernigan's girlfriend was found passed out in a bathtub.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011  A Columbia police officer is recovering and the suspect dead after an earling morning shooting in Columbia's Shandon neighborhood.  Police say the suspect opened fire with an AK-47.
