Interactive Local Sales Manager (iLSM)
Details: WACH, the FOX affiliate for Columbia, SC, is seeking an individual to lead and manage digital sales activities with dedicated digital sellers while coordinating with the Local Sales Staff (TV) to generate meaningful digital revenues. The candidate will report to the VP/GSM and consult with Sales Management to develop rate structure and point out/identify potential upsell opportunities to existing clientele. The candidate will also be charged with identifying emerging ad units and technologies with the potential to increase incremental revenue streams. The candidate must be able to communicate the complexities of digital advertising in practical terms when training the team how to relate the features and benefits of products to their clients.
Experience: At least three (3) years experience in digital advertising sales and at least one (1) year of successful supervisory/management experience.
Requirements: As a key member of the team, the candidate must demonstrate exceptional leadership and organizational skills. The ability to develop and then manage systems and processes is a must. As the Interactive Local Sales Manager, proficiency with computer skills and social media is a must.

The ideal candidate is someone who is an avid Internet user as well as a total geek about social media and can leverage skills across multiple platforms while also displaying in-depth technical knowledge of news production equipment.
Impeccable AP style writing skills, grammar and diction are essential, but so is knowing how to interact with our web audience in a professional manner that builds loyalty and grows traffic. Must be able to use search engine optimization and analytic tools in real time to make decisions about what content readers are responding to the most and determine what can be done to update and improve that content to take advantage of reader interest.
This person must be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced newsroom under deadline pressure and has experience in all facets of media. You must have flexibility to shoot, write, edit, report and research stories.
Required Skills/Experience:
Prior on-air television experience with Southeastern market experience strongly preferred. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays, as well as hours necessary to perform the duties as outlined above.
