(AP) -- LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Michael Jackson, the record-breaking, sensationally gifted "King of Pop" who emerged from childhood superstardom to become the entertainment world's most influential singer and dancer, and the tabloid world's most disturbing celebrity, has died. He was 50.

A person with knowledge of the situation says Jackson died Thursday in a Los Angeles hospital. The person was not authorized to speak publicly and requested anonymity.

His death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

Regards and Sympathy for MIchael

I think his funeral should be public cause alot of fans can't come to the places they are holding memorial services. We also wish we could be apart of this even though this is a very sad time. I also think the people who are requesting their money back from the concert he was suppose to perform they should be a shame. This money could be donated to his family and children. And I feel like his mom is a good choice for his children. And far as him taking meds if these people knew he had this addiction I hold all of them responsible because they could have saved his life and the hurt for his children and family. They could have informed his family the ones that who loved and cared and got him into a treatment program.I rather have seen him on the news taking re-hab or something than watching and listening about the death of him. I think that Doctor and the Nurse should be countable for not opening their mouth. If they seen he started abusing meds that he was prescribed for medical conditions like I said they should of opened their mouth.I feel sorry for his family and children I think his family really needs to pursue things they could of had a son, brother, and a father to his children alive to this day. I think his family is making the right moves and doing the best to their ability with the loss of their son.

I am really sad about the death of MIchael. I send my sympathy and regards to his family and children. Michael done so much with his life. What happened to him being a child did not hold him back he made his dreams come true. And this debt Michael was in I think everyone needs to turn their heads and look at all the charity his has given out and the good deeds has done. Why worry about his debt why can't the US take care of some of this and let his children get what they deserve. Michael had a few problems yes but now he needed help and no one thought about given to him to help him out. I think who ever let him get this far in debt its their problem knowing he could not pay all of this back. I think it should be their loss. His children and family deserves everything of Michael's. Look at the legacy he left behind right under Elvis Presley. Michael did so much for everybody I say forget about the debt and let his legacy live and let his dreams continue on he has children for peaks sake.
