You can thank the Napa Valley for the tasty food and fine wine served up at Travinia Italian Kitchen. It was during a trip to the valley that Mark Craig and Kevin Cox were inspired to combine their loves of food and wine to start an Italian eatery.
The two established the Travinia chain in August 2002 in Greenville, and it now includes six locations in South Carolina.
Travinia offers lunch, dinner and gluten-free menus, as well as to-go options. Stop in for lunch and try the quiche of the day. Or go with the signature crab cake Travinia -- jumbo lump crab cakes served with a side of spinach-roasted tomato orzo pasta.
For dinner, Sinatra chicken is a local favorite. It is pan-seared chicken breast topped with smoked pancetta, mozzarella cheese and light, semi-sweet Grand Marnier. Veal saltimbocca and seafood pescatora are popular choices as well. The restaurant prepares its own sauces, dips and dressings.
Travinia’s bar features a wine list of 60 varieties that can be ordered by the glass; a selection of 14 martinis, including the tantalizing Death by Chocolate (Godiva Chocolate Liqueur with Baileys Irish Cream served in a chocolate-rimmed glass); and bottled and draft beer.
Check out the weekly specials, including 25 percent off bottled wines on Tuesdays and half off martinis on Wednesdays.
The sensational food combined with exceptional service will have you planning your next trip to Travinia over a dessert of tiramisu or Italian creme cake.
