COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A judge has ruled against a former top recruit on the University of South Carolina women's soccer team who sued the school saying she was denied a scholarship renewal because of unwanted advances.

A federal judge on Wednesday granted summary judgment to the university in its lawsuit with Idana DeCecco.

The recruit filed a federal lawsuit in 2011, saying that women's soccer associate head coach Jamie Smith made the advances. Jamie Smith is the husband of head coach Shelley Smith.

School officials including athletics director Eric Hyman denied knowing anything about allegations involving Jamie Smith. The school said it used reasonable care to prevent and correct any harassing behavior.
