R. Michael Russell, CPO, FAAOP is a practicing prosthetist and Orthotist with 30 years experience fitting and helping patients return to independent and productive lives. A graduate of UCLA's Prosthetic and Orthotic Program, Mr. Russell was certified by the American Board of Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC) in 1974. Mr. Russell has dedicated his life to assisting his patients maximize their potential through the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices. Mr. Russell has also worked to support the profession of Prosthetics and Orthotics. He is a past president of ABC, past president of the Ohio Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, past president of the Ohio Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists. He has served as a Commissioner for the National Commission for Orthotic and Prosthetic Education and currently serves as an examiner for the national ABC Certification Examination. A member of the North and South Carolina Association of Orthotists and Prosthetists and the Georgia Society of Prosthetists and Orthotists, Mr. Russell was inducted as a Fellow to the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists in 2001. Mr. Russell founded Lexington Prosthetics and Orthotics with the goal of providing the best possible care and technology to those in need of Prosthetic or Orthotic service.

Lexington Prosthetics and Orthotics is happy to announce that Dan Brinkmann has joined our staff. Dan began working in the orthotic and prosthetic field during high school as a technician, fabricating artificial limbs and braces. In college, Dan became more involved in the clinical care of patients by assisting his father, who was a CPO. He saw people helped to achieve ability, mobility, and improved quality of life. This motivated him to formally pursue a career in prosthetics and orthotics. Upon graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Dan attended Northwestern University’s prosthetics and orthotics programs. Dan is a member of the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists. In 2001 he achieved the FAAOP designation (Fellow of the Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists). Dan’s subsequent experiences in the orthotics and prosthetics field are vast. He co-founded the Orthotic Prosthetic Rehabilitation Center in Wausau, Wisconsin. He was the Associate Director of Prosthetics and Orthotics at the Marshfield Clinic, a large non-profit multi-specialty medical center in Wisconsin. For seven years he was a prosthetist at the Amputee Clinics in Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.In addition to his clinical experience, Dan also has experience in the orthotics and prosthetics field as an educator. Dan has lectured on prosthetics to occupational and physical therapy students at the University of Wisconsin. He has also assisted in training prosthetic and orthotic technicians and has been an ABC Residency Director. Dan is qualified to provide a wide array of prosthetic & orthotic systems including Touch Bionics i-Limb and other myoelectric prosthetic limbs, microprocessor controlled knee-shin systems including the C-leg, the WalkAide functional electronic stimulation orthosis, stance-phase control leg orthoses, assisted vacuum prosthetic socket designs, and the Providence Scoliosis system. Dan’s interests include spending time with friends & family, exercising in the outdoors, and reading. He has volunteered with World Relief to help re-settle refugees from many countries around the world. Dan and his wife have also had a ministry providing counseling for couples. They consider their greatest achievement to be that their adult children enjoy coming home to visit. Dan would like to meet you and discuss how he can serve you and your patients.
