GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- TD Bank is celebrating the opening of its new call center in Greenville.

The company held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday. The call center is part of the bank's regional center which will include auditing, technology and customer service.

Regional president Rob Hoak says the company has already hired 600 employees and expects to hire an additional 800 workers by 2018.

The call center is part of a new campus of gleaming buildings on Interstate 85.

House Speaker Bobby Harrell says TD Bank's decision to put one of its three U.S. hubs in South Carolina shows the state continues to attract companies by being business-friendly.

The company's dual U.S. headquarters will remain in New Jersey and Maine.
