COLUMBIA (WACH) - Dozens of teenage girls in the Midlands will meet with local, successful career women Saturday morning.

The Powerful Women Summit is being held for the third year on Saturday at the Capital City Club from 9:30 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. The event is presented by the Girl Scouts of SOuth Carolina - Mountains to Midlands.

The participants, who are in the seventh grade or higher,  will engage in small group discussions with the speakers, asking questions about the women's backgrounds, successes and challenges, according to Susan R. Schneider, Director of Public Relations and Advocacy with the Girl Scouts of South Carolina - Mountains to Midlands.

Cynthia Pryor Hardy, a Communications Executive and Owner/Host of the news talk show, OnPoint! with Cynthia Hardy, will emcee the event. 

Female leaders from Fort Jackson, the Richland County Public Library, TD Bank, Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce will also be in attendance along with many others.
