BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) -- Two people have been killed in a wreck in Beaufort County where a car was going the wrong way on state Highway 170.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol says the wreck early Sunday sent a third person to the hospital.

Troopers say a car was traveling west in the eastbound lane when it collided with a pickup truck.

The driver of the car, 40-year-old Darryal Lamont Grant and the driver of the pickup, 46-year-old Lucia Estrada of Ridgeland, died at the scene.

A 17-year-old passenger in Estrada's truck was taken to a Savannah, Ga., hospital for treatment.

Troopers say Estrada was wearing a seatbelt, but Grant was not.

The bodies have been taken to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston for autopsies.
