The Columbia City Ballet was founded in 1961, and since that time, it has been wowing audiences throughout the region and featuring top-caliber dancers and performers from all over the world.
Led by Executive and Artistic Director William Starrett, the Columbia City Ballet routinely puts on some of the city’s most professional, original and entertaining productions.
Highlights include the “The Nutcracker,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and of course “Dracula: Ballet With a Bite,” one of the ballet’s most popular shows, “with its haunting visuals, graphic special effects and pulsating rock/jazz musical score.”
In addition to providing high-quality entertainment for the city, the Ballet’s Educational Outreach Series has spent 20 years teaching children in the region about many kinds of dancing, history and stagecraft. Teachers who register receive packets before each performance that include instructional materials, games and more.
The 2010-2011 season marks Columbia City Ballet’s 50th anniversary, and the ballet depends on your support to continue its tradition of excellence. Make a donation or purchase tickets to an upcoming performance now.
