The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department and Lexington County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Gilbert man whose body was found at around 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, along Old Wire Road near West Columbia.

Lexington County detectives think the death of James Wilbur Lybrand III, of Gilbert, involved foul play. However the cause and manner of Lybrand’s death remains under investigation. Lybrand’s death does not appear to have occurred at random.

man the people that did this to jimmy need to be caught so they can't do this to anyone else's family... my heart and condolences go out to all off jimmy's family and friends and most of all his children... even though me and jimmy had our differences and i am with one of his baby mamas and taking care of his little girl i never wished anything like this to happen to him.... and this also goes out to everyone, whoever did this should watch out cause he had alot of friends that loved him and they are looking for the person/people responsible for his death... so jimmy if you see what is being put on here or what is said, bro i never wished this on you man and i will help in any way that i can to find out who is responsible for what happen to you... we could have worked out our differences and i am sorry we never had the time to do so cause now i have to live with the fact that i was mad at you over a lie... jimmy everyone misses you and love you very much and we all want you to know that you have not and will not be forgotten... and your daughter will know who you are and that you loved her.... heather and i both want you to know that... so the next time we talk will be in the after life my friend... R.I.P. JIMMY YOU AND ANDY ARE LOVED AND BOTH OF YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED
