On Saturday folks from across the Midlands came out to meet their local firefighters. 

The men and women were on hand at every local Five Guys Restaurant. 

The idea behind the meet and greet, was to raise awareness and money on fire education.

Just this year, South Carolina has had a dangerous year with over 60 people dying from fire related deaths.  Officials say most of those deaths were preventable.
