The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County (FAC) and Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT) are proud to present Fame Jr., a Camden Community Theatre production, November 8-11 in the Wood Auditorium. The Thursday through Saturday evening shows start at 7:00 p.m., and the Sunday matinee begins at 3:00 p.m.. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors and military. Fame, Jr. is sponsored by Modern Turf.More than 50 local teens make up the cast and crew of this lively musical co-directed by Jerry Stevenson, CCT’s Artistic Director and Candice Fuller, CCT’s Production Manager. Set during the last years of New York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street (1980-1984), Fame, Jr. is the bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of grueling artistic and academic work. With candor, humor and insight, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today. The play’s lyrics are by Jacques Levy, Fame, Jr. with music by Steve Margoshes. It was conceived and developed by David De Silva and is based on the book by José Fernandez. “With the success of last year’s teen production, Zombie Prom, it was clear that we needed to continue doing a teen show.
