Pawmetto Lifeline Spay/ Neuter Clinic
COLUMBIA, S.C., Pawmetto Lifeline's Spay/Neuter Clinic is partnering with the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to provide free surgeries for puppies and kittens ages six months or younger to pet owners in Gaston, Pelion and Swansea.Puppies and kittens will receive their spay/neuter surgery and all age appropriate vaccinations. Surgeries and medical services at the clinic are made possible by a grant through the ASPCA.“Pawmetto Lifeline and the ASPCA recognize the importance of spaying and neutering and the impact it can have on controlling the companion pet population,” said Pawmetto Lifeline’s director of medical services, Tracy Johnson. “We want to assist the areas that need our help the most.”Pawmetto Lifeline’s Spay/Neuter Clinic concentrates its efforts most aggressively on communities with high rates of animal reproduction and pets belonging to low-income populations. Pawmetto Lifeline will transport pets from these selected high-need areas to the clinic for surgery.“Gaston, Pelion and Swansea were all recognized as areas with great need. We are so excited to provide these services to their residents,” Johnson said.Interested residents can schedule their surgery date by calling the Pawmetto Lifeline Spay/Neuter Clinic at (803)465-9100. Residents must provide proof of a Pelion, Swansea or Gaston address to take advantage of the offer. The spay/neuter clinic is a part of Pawmetto Lifeline’s long term goal of turning the Midlands into a no- kill community, meaning no healthy, adoptable pet will be euthanized simply because it is homeless. For more information about the clinic, please call (803)465-9100 or visit pawmettolifeline.org. The clinic is located in the Meyer Finlay Pet Adoption Center at 1275 Bower Parkway, Columbia, S.C., 29212.
