Habitat for Humanity Furniture Drive

Local church is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity ReStore to make a difference

COLUMBIA, S.C. (Oct. 17, 2009) – Habitat for Humanity is hosting a furniture drive at Irmo’s Union United Methodist Church on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community is invited to join and donate their gently used furniture to help eliminate poverty hous¬ing in Columbia. Churches and businesses around the Irmo area are also joining in to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission. The donations will be sold at Habitat’s ReStore, located in West Columbia off of Highway 378. All do-nations are tax-deductible, and the proceeds go to building homes for local families in need. Union UMC’s LifeLine youth group will be at the church to receive donations at 7582 E. Woodrow Drive Irmo, S.C., 29063. This is a furniture drive only. Items should be in good condition with no tears, pet damage or stains. No mattresses, toys or baby furniture will be accepted.
