American Heart Association

What? Start! Midlands Heart Walk

About: Janet Parker is the WACH team captain and wants to get as many people on OUR team as possible, "after attending the team captain luncheon a few weeks and hearing how the American Heart Association has touched the life of someone living with heart disease, I am very glad to be lacing up my shoes and walking for such a great cause."

What? Tour de Cure

About? Join us at Little Mountain Reunion Park and ride to make a difference in the lives of over 300,000 South Carolinians diagnosed with diabetes. The Tour de Cure is a challenging cycling event that lets both the avid and recreational cyclists raise money for diabetes research and programs to find a cure for diabetes.     

Routes: The South Carolina Tour de Cure offers four routes (100, 65, 25 & five mile) that travel beautiful back roads of the Dutch Fork area, Sumter National Forest and Lake Monticello which offer a terrain with rolling hills and beautiful scenery. The five mile Family Fun Ride offers a fun safe experience for all ages to enjoy! Trust us – you can do it, and you will enjoy it!

A Red Rider is someone living with diabetes (type 1 or type 2) who rides in the Tour de Cure as an individual or on a team! Learn more about how you can be recognized as a RED RIDER!
