Chief Meteorologist

School: University of Missouri
Hometown: Memphis, TN

Until the age of six, Henry was terrified of thunderstorms. Then, one day his cousin took him outside during one and explained what was going on. That fear turned to fascination, and now a career!

A native of Memphis, TN, Henry got an early foot in the door as an intern in high school at the local CBS affiliate. During his junior year at the University of Missouri, he was hired for his first on-air job at KMIZ-TV, the ABC affiliate in Columbia, MO. From there Henry went on to work at television stations in St. Louis, MO and Memphis, TN.

Aside from the television side of weather, Henry is also an experienced storm chaser.

Henry’s love for weather has awarded him with several wonderful opportunities. In 2006, while at WPTY, he was sent to design, launch, and anchor weather on sister station KION-TV’s new morning show in Monterey, CA. In 2009, he was honored with the Mid-South Regional Emmy nomination for “Best Weathercast”. Henry is also a member of the National Weather Association.

Henry is a big believer in giving back. Since arriving in the Midlands, he has created a program called SkyWACH Weather School, which has him speaking to schools and civic groups across the community. He also started SkyWACHer in Training, which awarded area middle school students excelling in the classroom a chance to team up with Henry and anchor the weather during a live newscast.

Aside from weather, Henry is also a board member and Vice President of Communications for the Palmetto Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Henry’s passion for finding a cure to Juvenile Diabetes, also known as Type 1 Diabetes, comes from his father who is Type 1 diabetic.

When he’s not working or chasing tornados, Henry can be found out-and-about in the community with his rescued four legged pal Bella, traveling, playing various sports, and spending time with family and friends.
