Sara Jane Harris

School: University of North Carolina at Charlotte

Sara Jane Harris is happy beginning her broadcasting career in Columbia as Reporter for WACH FOX News. Sara Jane has strong ties to the Columbia area, having grown up in Irmo, before she moved with her family to the Upstate while in high school and graduated from Dorman High School. While there, she was fortunate to participate on the State Championship Lady Cavaliers basketball team. Her high school sports experience included lettering in five other varsity sports as well.

Sara Jane earned her B.A. in Communications from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2008. As a scholarship athlete in college, Sara Jane played Division I soccer for both the USC Gamecocks and the Charlotte 49ers. Athletics has played a major role in her life and has taught her vital skills like teamwork and leadership; as well as providing many interesting experiences and the opportunity to meet and get to know people from all over the United States. While in college, Sara Jane interned with NBC Universal and WBTV Sports in Charlotte. At WBTV, she covered professional sports teams like the Carolina Panthers and the Charlotte Bobcats and was able to experience the thrill of NASCAR.

In her spare time, you can find Sara Jane working out, listening to music, and cheering on the Gamecocks! Sara Jane is blessed 'with the gift of gab' and loves talking to people in the WACH viewing community to find out what they think about the key issues affecting their lifestyles and the Midlands.
